Fall Open House at Bear’s Mill

GREENVILLE – Historic Bear’s Mill will host its annual Fall Open House from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8 at 6450 Arcanum-Bear’s Mill Road in Greenville. The event features bean soup, cornbread, apple dumplings and more, plus music, campfires, fall decor and local arts. The event is free.

Chocolate Festival in Dayton

DAYTON – The Faith and Friends Radio Chocolate Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Coliseum. Private vendors and area chocolatiers provide an array of themed chocolates. There is also live music and entertainment, a Kid’s Corner with bounce houses, a Chocolate Recipe Contest, plus games and prizes. The event is free.

Outdoor Experience Festival in Dayton

Indian Mound Festival in Athens

THE PLAINS – Located near Hocking Hills and surrounded by beautiful fall foliage, the Indian Mound Festival might make a good stop while seeing the colors in southern Ohio. Apple Butter Festival at Hueston Woods

COLLEGE CORNER – The Hueston Woods AppleButter Festival provides a vignette of 19th century farm life and features continual making and canning of apple butter in the pioneer fashion throughout the event. In addition to apple butter sales, a wide variety of apples, cider, pumpkins and gourds can be purchased on the grounds. Tours are conducted through the Doty homestead and the barn, both of mid 1980’s vintage and exhibiting a broad display of museum artifacts. Each year demonstrations of pioneer crafts are featured along with a theme program. Admission is $4 for adults and free for children 12 and under and hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Marietta Zombie Fest
